Most brands exist by telling you who you're supposed to be when you wear their name. We're going to do the opposite. We'll tell you how we work and what we care about and we'll leave the rest to you. It’s your house to define.
So here's the start of HOUSE OF DC, in plain terms.
WHAT THE NAME MEANS
People are going to ask what "House of DC" stands for. Our honest answer: that's up to you.
By definition, A “house” is a place that is for families and friends. A “house” provides refuge. A “house” is a place where people or community gather. A “house” is an organization. What is YOUR house?
We're not here to hand you an identity or tell you what to represent. We make the gear. You bring the meaning. Whatever those letters say to you, wherever you're from, whatever you're about — that's the right answer. A name is only worth something when the people wearing it decide it is. You define your House and who is in it.
That's the deal we're comfortable with. We'll keep our end — the quality, the care, the limited numbers. The rest belongs to you.
A FEW THINGS, MADE WELL
We didn't set out to offering everything. We set out to offer a few pieces we'd actually wear, and to make them right. That's the whole standard. If something doesn't meet it, it doesn't go out the door with our name on it.
It's a slower way to build a brand. We think it's the only way worth doing.
WE ARE FOR LOCAL ARTISTS
HOUSE OF DC isn't just here to sell gear. It's here to give local artists, musicians, and entertainers a platform. The creative talent around us deserves more shine, and we'd rather build something that lifts them up than build it alone.
That commitment isn't a side project. It's one of the main reasons this brand exists.
TWO KINDS OF DROPS
There are two ways to get HOUSE OF DC, and they're built differently on purpose.
Our numbered drops are designed by local artists. Each one is a collaboration and very limited when it's gone, it's gone. You'll know exactly how many exist and that yours is one of them. These are the pieces that carry someone else's creativity, and we put their name on the work.
Our standard line is the core HOUSE OF DC gear. It isn't numbered, but every release is still made in a limited quantity. We don't restock endlessly or chase volume. When a run sells through, we move on to the next thing.
Either way, the standard is the same: made well, kept limited, never watered down.
THE FIRST DROP
Our first hat release is live now. Small on purpose, made to our standard, and built to last.
